Algae Veronica's Nail Art Obsession

What is art to you? Art is my job, it's my mood, it's my life...I live breathe and eat art (although I think some art wouldn't be very tasty.)

About Algae Veronica
I'm a 24 year-old cosmetologist from Michigan. I've been an artist all my life, but I've been a nail artist for about 5 years. A few years ago I got a job working at a nail salon and I absolutely LOVED it, so I decided to leave the college I was at and pursue "beauty" college. I'm lucky enough to have nail and hair designing as a career I'm able to and share my passion of hair and nail art with all kinds of wonderful, art-hungry people.

I'm an OPI junky, although I'm not opposed to using whatever catches my eye. I have over 460 bottles of nail polish (how on Earth did that happen?) and it's growing every day.

I taught myself all i need to know about nail art. It's hard to find people who do the same thing in the industry, especially since most of my cosmetology friends went with hair styling and not nail designing.
I'm always up for meeting new people, especially people with the same passion for nail art, so if you're into it too don't be a stranger and message me !

I have a couple of tutorials up and a video on what tools I use for my designs,so make sure you check it out!

I hope you enjoy my posts. Thanks for stopping by. :)

***I would really appreciate it if you could kindly give me credit for my original designs. Please DO NOT alter my water mark or crop it out.***

A couple of questions, if I could. :) One, when filing, do you suggest back and forth motions or single strokes in one direction? Two, as far as nail polish remover goes, do you suggest acetone free or with acetone? I'm asking because I've heard that acetone can actually damage nails and back and forth filing can make nails prone to breaking, and was wondering if either were true. Thanks!

Hello! I have a YouTube video on how to do a professional manicure and I answer all of these questions in the video. Please let me know if you’d like me to clarify and if you have any other questions! Thanks for checking out my blog!

p.s. about acetone: acetone is great for getting rid of polish and oil, but it could also damage and dry out your nails if you use it too much or incorrectly. Other nail polish removers are infused with vitamins which is great, but isn’t as effective when removing nail polish like acetone is.
